This one's tricky. You have to use imaginary numbers, like eleventeen...

Isn't this a nice way to split a hundred?
all hail super-fuzzy logic! :)

You scored as Calvin. You are Calvin! You are an obnoxious little six-year-old who knows way too much to be getting Fs in school. You know how to have the best time playing, and can annoy adults to no end.

Code-house Blues!

Vishvanath, a colleague of mine who shares my passion for rock 'n roll had these lines on his comp wallpaper..

"Codehouse Blues
Keep your eyes on the screen,
Your hands upon the keyboard."

It sounded like a cool thing to do in a geeky sort of way..
So I thought why not go all the way..

With sincere apologies to The Doors, here's my version of the Roadhouse Blues
Thanks Vish! for sparking the idea.. here goes..
(for the original lyrics click here)

The Boors - Codehouse Blues

Ah, Keep your eyes on the screen,
Your hands upon the keyboard.
Keep your eyes on the screen
Your hands upon the keyboard.

Yeah, we're going to the codehouse,
Gonna have it good in real-time.

Yeah, the back of the codehouse,
They've got those bugs galore.
Yeah, the back of the codehouse,
They've got those bugs galore.

No RAM for the people
Who like to go down slow.

Del Alt Control, baby, roll.
Del Alt Control, baby, roll.
Del Alt Control, baby, roll.
Del Alt Control, all night long.

Do it, Billy, Do it!

You gotta code, code, code,
You gotta thrill my keyboard, alright.
Code, code, code, code-a
Thrill my keyboard.

Ah, right now.

Well, I woke up this morning
And I got myself a beer.
Well, I woke up this morning
And I got myself a beer.

The future's uncertain
And the deadline is always near.

Del Alt Control, baby, roll.
Del Alt Control, baby, roll.
Del Alt Control, baby, roll.
Del Alt Control, all night long.

Now let's see if i can rendition this with my guitars.. :)

Kashmiri Girl

No poems lately.. but here's a song I recently composed..

Kashmiri Girl (Click here to listen)

(Lyrics: Rohinton Daruwala, Music: Me :) )

[guitar intro]

Met you on a monsoon day
Sweet fairy shivering away
Forgivin' of bad pickup lines

Couldn't get you to stay any longer
Than the few months when the
Seasons change between two lives

[chorus]
I want to.. take you down off your.. snowy bed and kiss.. away
All the places.. you silently.. bled your life.. away

Washed our feet in laughter
Streets like flooded rivers
On drunken rainy days

Boys like brown frogs in water
Never saw them trippin' on gunfire
On cold lonely ways

[repeat chorus]

[lead]

[bridge]
Me drunk and helpless while
They took you out to die like
A shower of rose petals on the snow

These nights I search the sky
For the colour of your hair but find
The stars mocking me so

[modified intro]

(How can forgiveness grow
On ground where shame still burns?
Your breath accuses me now)

[repeat chorus]

On a Mumbai monsoon day
I beg the rain to take me away
Down to the silent snow

------------------------------
Hope you like it!

Good Night

starry night, moon beam through my window
defyin the darkness and makin me wonder..
should i fight back like it fights my shadow
or surrender to the quite yonder

i wish you a good night, dream about a tomorrow
that may bring the joys u seek
sleep well and forget your sorrows..
for in the end you ll touch the peak

Late Lament

Drops on my face, some of rain, some tears
enraged showers engulf me
each drop asking me the reason for my wrongs
I feel lost in haunting memories

The walks, the smiles, the glances we exchanged
all forgotten for a mere mirage
what I had I could not treasure
now I repent for the lines I drew

I see trees in black and white
there's a sky but I see no light
I see you with your face all a-glow
and know you're the light that's missing

Can you hear it ticking? life's counting down
but there is hope and its yours to give
would you?
before the earth and I become one.
